Using the geolocation feature in Google SketchUp!!

Today we are going to learn how to geolocate whatever building or construction we have made with SketchUp, using the feature that connect SketchUo to Google Earth.

Imagine for a moment that you have a piece of land near your town and you would like to build your own house there. Are you going to pay for a design that you would be able to do?

Open Google Earth and look for your plot. You can even take measurements without having to go there, from your home computer. So you can have a previous idea more or less accurate about the dimensions of the building or house you are going to design.

Then you can go to SketchUp and begin to create your model house. When you have finished your design, you will have to go to file menu, and choose the geolocation option, and then the add geolocation option.

Watch the next video about how to do it, and ask me whatever doubt you have, when video finish.

Hello everybody!! Today we are going to have a practical class about how to identify the components inside our computer. The day before we were here, at the library, we were watching a video about how to mount a PC from scratch. I told you that we were going to open one of our computer room's PCs, so here we are.

I have brought this computer with me, and we are going to dismount it piece by piece, while you note down on your notebook each one of the components. You have to note down the name of each component in english and in spanish too.

But as I know that you weren't paying me attention the day before..., I've linked another video to our blog, so you can learn a little more about computer parts and its vocabulary. So, pay attention now, because I'm going to evaluate you about this...

How to mount a PC

Today, we are going to learn how to mount a computer part by part. We are sorrounded by technology, and we have to know how to set it up, how to use it, and even how to repair it if it doesn't work properly.

Mounting a PC could seem to be difficult, but it's not. You only need to follow some guidelines. Let's watch a video about it.

Designing with Google SketchUp

One of the most importants things to create whichever product, is its design. The technology, and this subject is about technology, is directly related to graphic design. Each electrical device which surround us has been created and designed before. If you look around you, you will realize that most of things that you see and have been manufactured in serie, all of them have needed a Technical Project. And one of the most importants parts of a Technical Proyect is graphic design.

In this didactic unit we are going to learn how to draw helped by our computer. Have you ever seen or heard something about CAD? This is the acronym of Computer Assisted Design.

To begin with, we are going to use a very intuitive but powerfull tool, that is Google SketchUp. Last week we installed this free software in some of our computers and we were able to begin to draw some simple designs. This week we are going to deepen in this incredible and powerfull design tool!! Watch the next videos and ask me if you don't understand anything...

Welcome to this blog which aim is to learn technology and improve our english

The major aim of this blog is being a good tool for students to learn how to set up and how to build their own inventions. Technology is supposed to be to free up time and to make our lives easier. So we have to be able to use technology properly and to think on how to improve our lives through a better technology. This was one of the first things we did in our first day of class. We watched a very interesting video about an african boy who designed an electric device to scare lions and to protect his community's domestic animals. His name is Richard Turere, and he has been granted a scholarship for his excellent work. Would you like to know what device did he invent? Look into the following video.
